Training of Artists- Spain

The MPAS face-to-face workshops in Spain were organised by Proyecto Nagual from 24 to 26 April 2026 at Alnouar, in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. The three-day training brought together 30 selected artists and creatives, chosen through an open call that received 47 applications. The call, titled “In the Beginning Was Art”, invited participants interested in exploring the connection between artistic practice, mental health prevention and community work. The selection process focused on artistic background, motivation to engage with mental health, commitment to social impact and willingness to participate fully in the experiential training process.

The workshop introduced participants to the MPAS methodology through a progressive journey combining artistic, narrative and somatic practices. The programme moved from creating a safe and inclusive group space to deeper work on identity, personal narratives, symbolic transformation, body awareness and collective expression. Activities included methodological input, embodied practices, storytelling, movement, reflection and group dialogue, allowing participants to experience the methodology directly and consider how it could be transferred to their own artistic, educational or community contexts. The evaluation showed very high levels of satisfaction and relevance, with participants highlighting the transformative power of art, the importance of connection and belonging, and their increased readiness to use the MPAS approach in future workshops with young people aged 18–30, especially those in vulnerable situations.
