OUR PROJECT
ART AND CONNECTION FOR THE PREVENTION OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
The “Art for the Prevention of Mental Health Problems” (MPAS) project, through the use of the “Art of Connection” approach, promotes the use of artistic practices—such as music, movement, theatre, writing, and visual arts—as tools for preventing mental health issues among vulnerable young adults (18–30) in Europe. Led by a multidisciplinary consortium from Spain, Greece, Italy, and Bulgaria, the project develops a transnational toolkit and delivers artist training and inclusive workshops that foster emotional expression, community connection, and psychological resilience, particularly targeting youth facing socioeconomic, cultural, or health-related challenges.

As the MPAS project begins, we are excited to share our planned results and ambitions. Over the course of the project, we will develop a practical toolkit for artists and facilitators, deliver training to support art-based mental health prevention, and organize creative workshops with vulnerable young people across Europe. This section outlines the key outcomes we are working toward and the impact we aim to create.
