First Meeting in Barcelona

On January 30–31, 2025, the MPAS (Mental Prevention through Artistic Skills) project officially began with its first transnational partner meeting in Barcelona. Hosted by Proyecto Nagual, the gathering brought together representatives from all four partner organizations—Spain’s Proyecto Nagual, Greece’s Hope Art, Italy’s Omphalos, and Bulgaria’s Association of Psychologists (APB)—to present their work, align visions, and plan the first steps of the project.

Day one focused on exploring each partner’s unique contribution to the project’s methodology, including narrative therapy, the “Art of Connection,” music and movement-based approaches, and psychological frameworks for mental health prevention. Day two was dedicated to clarifying the project structure, assigning responsibilities, and preparing the groundwork for the toolkit, artist trainings, and future workshops.

Key outcomes included the confirmation of the next training meeting in Athens, agreement on the toolkit structure and timeline, and the establishment of clear financial and dissemination procedures. The meeting set a strong collaborative tone for the project and reinforced a shared commitment to using art as a powerful tool for supporting young people’s mental well-being.
